Last evening as I walked across the supermarket parking lot, a woman in a car stopped, rolled down her window, and told me she had a sick child in the car.  She said the little girl needed to get to the hospital, but her car was low on gas.

I checked my pocket for cash, and asked if a five dollar bill would do.   She said yes, thanked me, and as I drove from the parking lot, noticed her car in line at the pump.   As I told the story on this morning's show, I said you just can't say "no" when there is a child involved.  I gave her the benefit of the doubt.   But then the calls came in.  Apparently this has happened many times before.
