Wareham Police make arrest and take drug off the streets

According to a press release on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 3:00 pm, a drug investigation conducted by the Wareham Police Department Detective Division resulted in the arrest of 26 year old Wareham resident Nicholas Gregory, who was found to be in possession of approximately 50 grams of cocaine, heroin residue, and $630 cash during a motor vehicle stop on Indian Neck Road.

As part of an ongoing drug investigation, detectives acted on received information and attempted to stop a Ford Expedition operated by Mr. Gregory, who refused to stop and attempted to elude several officers while accelerating speed and passing vehicles in thickly settled areas of Great Neck Rd., Crooked River Rd., and finally Indian Neck Rd., where the vehicle finally came to a stop.

A search of the inside of the vehicle by Bourne K9 Officer Desrosiers and his partner “Dutch” led to the discovery of heroin residue, while Wareham K9 Officer Phinney and his partner “Rolf” located a headset case, apparently thrown from the vehicle, that contained approximately 50 grams of powder and crack cocaine. Mr. Gregory was in possession of $630 at the time of the stop.

Nicholas Gregory was scheduled to be arraigned at Wareham District Court on Thursday, June 4, 2015 on the following charges:

  1. Trafficking in Cocaine Over 36 Grams
  2. Possession of Class A Substance (Heroin)
  3. Operating to Endanger
  4. Failure to Stop For a Police Officer
  5. Marked Lanes Violations
  6. Speeding
