A Wareham man was arrested on drug charges after being spotted in an uninspected vehicle.

Police Chief Kevin Walsh says that at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Det. Sgt. Michael Smith was in the Swifts Beach area when he spotted an uninspected  vehicle parked on a dead end.

The driver spotted the police cruiser and began leaving the area.

While he was driving away he was observed placing something under the driver's seat.

Walsh says Det. Sgt. Smith stopped the vehicle and noticed a notted glassine bag which contained eight grams of suspected cocaine and crack cocaine.

A folding knife was also seen inside the vehicle's door handle.

A more extensive search of the vehicle uncovered a plastic bag containing marijuana, a digital scale, loose sandwich bags, and four cell phones.

Officers also found a bottle containing approximately 375 ml. of liquid Morphine, along with two syringes and two spill-proof bottles used with dispensing the liquid, along with $394.00 cash.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Matthew Cole, was arrested and charged with: Possession With Intent to Distribute Class B Substance (Cocaine), Trafficking Over 200 Grams Class A Substance (Morphine), Possession of a Class D Substance With Intent to Distribute (Marijuana) and Operating an Uninspected Motor Vehicle.
