Congratulations are in order for Wareham High School.  As of last week they now have “full” accreditation status.

Five years ago, a “warning” status was applied to Wareham High School for failing to comply with several standards of excellence established by the agency.

According to Wicked Local, most prominent among the recommendation and improvements listed by NEASC was repairing the WHS roof and acquiring additional technology items for use by students and educators. The new roof was completed last year and next year every student will be given a chrome book.

The “warning” tag is not a rare occurrence at Massachusetts schools. A recent analysis of data included on the NEASC website (www.neasc.org) indicated that “more than 100” schools in the commonwealth held the same designation. Wareham High School never lost accreditation and WHS will next be evaluated for full accreditation by NEASC in 2021.

Kiah Heron who is a senior and graduating this year from Wareham High School says this, "when I was a freshman, my mom was nervous we would lose credidation, but soon realized it was just a warning.  And by the end of my freshman year, they had started fixing what needed fixing, which put both of us at ease."
