In honor of Veteran's Day, I would like to point the attention towards our women who have served and are currently serving. This is Sandy's Story.

Sandy McConnell is a local Veteran who served 15 years in the Army National Guard. Her M.O.S. was an M.P. and protected both our homeland as well as foreign countries overseas.

Sandy has never had to lift a gun towards anyone, but that does not mean she is not a hero. Her efforts and time spent protecting and guarding our nation alone is more than enough.

Sandy is 48 years young and tells us that if she could, despite a medical discharge, she would continue to fight for our freedom.... A freedom that is often overlooked nowadays.

So Sandy, today amongst all days, we as a country, as a nation, as one, would like to thank you for your duties and your willingness to sacrifice.

You are my Hero.
