One of the young women struck by a car Thursday night in Dartmouth has been released from the hospital.

The unidentified 19-year-old UMass Dartmouth student was released from St. Luke's Hospital after she and a 21-year-old fellow student were hit by a car after 6pm at the intersection of Old Westport and Cross Roads.

UMass Dartmouth Spokesman John Hoey tells WBSM News the 21-year-old female victim is still being treated for her injuries at Rhode Island Hospital. Her condition is unknown.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, which involved a 53-year-old Westport man that was driving the car that struck the two women.
