The updates regarding New England tight end Rob Gronkowski's multiple absences from practice this week keep rolling in, as ESPN's Adam Schefter and Mike Reiss have added to the nervousness of Patriots' fans.

A report just released by the two says that Gronkowski spent a big portion of the day in a Boston hospital, receiving treatment on his right knee. Part of the treatment was an injection.

According to the team, they still believe that Gronkowksi will play in Saturday's divisional round game, but they will see how he is feeling on game day.

That doesn't sound too good.

The initial report I put out about an hour ago seemed as though Gronk might have been held out of practice more for precautionary reasons and that he was pretty clearly good to at least play in the game Saturday.

News of all day treatment and injections into the knee just two days prior to the game, however, make this knee injury look a lot worse.

The 26-year-old is so important to New England's success offensively. If he is unable to go or is significantly limited in ability come Saturday, the Pats could be in REAL trouble.

For now, Patriots Nation can do little more than keep their fingers crossed and hope for the best by the time the team hits the field Saturday.
