A new creative play space is now open at Buttonwood Park Zoo!

From the Buttonwood Park Zoo’s press release:
“Charlie’s Nature Play is designed to connect children to nature via meaningful unstructured play. This child-centered landscape promises to provide a rich environment that will stimulate a child’s natural curiosity and creativity through multi-sensory, hands-on activities. The Zoo has partnered with Nature Explore, a national research-based company, to design this natural learning center using the best educational theories and practices.”

Charlie’s Nature Play will incorporate several different features for your little one to explore including splash, create, build, invent, play, climb, dig, imagine, and grow.

We are learning so much about how important unstructured play is for little kids. It allows them to let their creativity and problem-solving skills blossom without the use of any electronic equipment! It's awesome having this kind of play space available to us on the SouthCoast!

A formal ribbon-cutting and dedication of Charlie’s Nature Play will take place on Sunday, August 5 at 11 AM. Charlie’s Nature Play is named in honor of Charles E. Winterhalter of Dartmouth.
