UMass is on a nationwide search for a new chancellor.

A 16-member committee made up of UMass Dartmouth students, alumni, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the UMass Board of Trustees and community representatives are searching for the right leader who will take UMass Dartmouth to the next level.

The Boston Globe talked to UMass President Marty Meehan and he said the committee’s job is to conduct a national search that will be “comprehensive, transparent, and inclusive.”

Interim Chancellor Peyton Randolph Helm (who had been appointed in January), said he will not be in the running as a candidate for the position but  will help the committee in their search.
