Two Stores Closing At Dartmouth Mall

One store has closed, and another store will be closing at the end of this month at the Dartmouth Mall.

The mall has confirmed that the Gap will be closing at the end of January. The closing is part of Gap's decision to close 1/4 of it's stores in North America. Once a fashion staple in the 80's and 90's, the company blames the mass closings on a change in fashion trends...including casual Fridays.

Another surprise closing at the Dartmouth Mall is the Hallmark store. Shoppers reported seeing crowds of people in the Dartmouth Mall's Hallmark stores during the holiday rush, but it apparently wasn't enough to save the local store.

No word from the Dartmouth Mall yet about potential replacements for the soon to be vacant spaces.
