Truck Crash in Fairhaven

If you're wondering how this happened at a local Fairhaven gas station, you're not alone...

Fairhaven police tell us the driver of the truck, Michael Bowers of Fairhaven, drove his truck into a gas pump at the Valero gas station located at the corners of Rt.6 Huttleston Ave and Bridge Street.  The accident occured at 3am late last Saturday night/early Sunday morning, December 12th.

Mr. Bowers was arrested for operating to endanger and the accident is currently under investigation.

If you live or work in the area of this Valero gas station, you're probably wondering, why haven't they moved the truck by now?

Fairhaven police say engineers are working closely with the Town Vehicle Inspector on exactly how to remove the truck from where it's sitting. They say it could be hazardous and unsafe if removed; by pulling up the support which holds the gas pump in place.  For now, the gas station remains closed and taped off by police.
