Tracy Morgan made his first public appearance on The Today Show since his car crash.

Tracy Morgan did his first exclusive interview about the accident that happened almost a year ago when a Walmart tractor trailer hit Morgan's limousine, severely injuring him and killing his close friend, James McNair. Morgan and several friends were returning from a performance when the limo was rear-ended on the New Jersey Turnpike after the truck driver fell asleep at the wheel. The comedian suffered a broken leg, several broken ribs and severe brain trauma.

The case is settled but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mack.

Matt Lauer interviewed Morgan asking him about the accident. Morgan teared up throughout the interview, especially when talking about McNair. "I've been told and I have my family...they helped me keep my spirits up...the case is settled but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mack. He was a close friend of mine, a comrade in comedy, and he was a loving man, warm man, he was a good man...it just hurts me to see that he's gone."

Morgan has stated that he was in a coma after the accident and doesn't remember the accident itself. The lawsuit against Walmart had been recently settled and Tracy thanked them for "stepping up to the plate" and taking full responsibly while helping McNair's family.

When Lauer asked if Tracy would ever return to comedy, he said, "I love comedy. I'll never stop loving her. I love comedy and I can't wait to get back to her, but right now my goal is just to heal and get better...when I'm there, you'll know it. I'll get back to making you laugh. I promise you."
