Tonight’s Virginia Moon Rocket Launch Should Be Visible From The Southcoast
NASA will be shooting things off into space again. No, not the space shuttle, something a little less spectacular but we will be able to see it off our coast tonight.
According to CBS, NASA will be launching the Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) atop a brand-new Mintaur V rocket from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, and nearly 85 million people should be able to catch the great show! If you plan on being awake around 11:27 p.m., throw on a jacket and check it out.
Look toward the south-southeastern sky and enjoy. It will likely take 90 to 120 seconds before we can see the rocket streaking across the night sky.
UPDATE - 9/7 12:50pm
Check out the video below that NASA put up of the launch.
