Tom Brady finally answers the question about a career in politics after football.

I have often said that when the football thing is over for Tom Brady...he could be elected as US Senator from Massachusetts in a New York, er....New England minute.  It seems completely logical.  Brady is inarguably one of the most popular human beings in Massachusetts.  Beyond that, he is probably one of the most popular people in six of the 50 states.  Well, more accurately...5 1/2 states (half of Connecticut is Eli Manning country).

Brady has already been able to deflect controversy.  He somehow successfully navigated himself through the PR nightmare that was Deflategate.  Of course, his 38-year-old body being blessed with a 24-year-old's arm isn't hurting things for him this season.

In a new article from GQ.com, Brady absolutely shoots down the idea of TB12 in Washington...unless he's roaming FedEx Field.

"There is a 0.000 chance of me ever wanting to do that,” says Brady. “I just think that no matter what you’d say or what you’d do, you’d be in a position where—you know, you’re politicking. You know? Like, I think the great part about what I do is that there’s a scoreboard. At the end of every week, you know how you did. You know how well you prepared. You know whether you executed your game plan. There’s a tangible score. I think in politics, half the people are gonna like you and half the people are not gonna like you, no matter what you do or what you say.… It’s like there are no right answers. If there were, everyone would choose the right answers. They’re all opinions.”

I guess we shouldn't hold our breath for a Brady/Gronk ticket in 2020.  Besides, Brady will have 10 more years left to play in the NFL if he has his way.  Maybe by the 2028 election the future Hall of Famer can be convinced to change his mind about politics.
