Tragedy struck over the weekend in Upstate New York, as two high school students were killed when their vehicle was hit by a drunk driver.

The accident also resulted in the injuries of two other students. One of the students, Matt Hardy, received a call on Monday night from New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow. That call was inspired by a twitter campaign with #TebowCallMatt. 50,000 tweets later, the two were finally connected.

Obviously there is little love for the New York Jets in Patriots country, but you have to appreciate the selflessness of Tim Tebow in this situation. This young man was put through an event that he should never have to go through, and two of his friends have paid the ultimate price.

The other survivor of the car crash, Baily Wind, reportedly got a call from Olympic gold medal swimmer Missy Franklin.
