Don't be fooled! A new iPhone prank is circulating and it could make your phone unusable.

A digital prank is making the rounds on Facebook and it's causing iPhones some serious issues.

As WPRI 12 reports, Apple has acknowledged that the prank is a bug that could keep your iPhone from restarting.

Here's what to look for so you don't get tricked into damaging your phone...

The message will appear to be an old MacIntosh ad that will ask you to reset your phone's date to January 1, 1970 so you can "relive the magic" of the past.

Anyone with a iPhone 5 or newer, an iPad Air, an iPad mini 2 or a generation six of the iPod Touch are all at risk

If you do this and try to experience the "magic" though, your phone will get frozen on the greeting screen when you try to restart it.

Anyone with a iPhone 5 or newer, an iPad Air, an iPad mini 2 or a generation six of the iPod Touch are all at risk.

Apple is willing to provide support to anyone who's phone is affected by the prank, but your best bet is to ignore the message altogether.

The company is also promising that “an upcoming software update will prevent this issue from affecting iOS devices.”
