Each week our social media newsfeeds are crammed full of stuff that makes people take sides, whether they consciously realize it or not. 2015 was no different and the internet turned out some pretty memorable controversies that at the root of it all, were all a bit silly and not worth de-friending people over.

Internet Outrage Moment 1. Deflategate
Despite happening almost a year ago, this outrage still rears its ugly head from time to time. In short, Deflategate was the football version of Watergate. The Patriots were accused of deliberately deflating the 11 of the 12 game day balls to gain an advantage over their opponents, the Indianapolis Colts. This story had so many layers to it, we don't even have the brain space to re-cap it. Whatever the case, it did give birth to our new favorite character Court Room Sketch Brady. Go Pats!

Internet Outrage Moment 2. The Dress
Back in February, someone somwhere so innocently posted a photo to Tumblr asking people to chime in on what color a Mother-of-the-Brides dress "really" was.  As a whole, the internet lost its mind debating whether it was blue and black or white and gold. The topic was inescapable; CNN talked about it, Time Magazine talked about it, New York Times, ...your grandma! We don't even remember who finally de-throned this story, but bless them- they deserve an award.

Internet Outrage Moment 3. The Red Cup
At first you may have thought "Why all the hullabaloo over the Solo cup?" but then after investigating you realized that the world was actually talking about the red Starbucks cup. In short, Starbucks changed it's holiday cup design from one adorned with snowflakes and ornaments to one that is just simply red. This caused an internet outrage. The removal of the Christmas flair caused an internet outrage, a "war on Christmas", if you will. Our take on the whole thing?  as long as you don't strip away the caffeine next, we're good.
