We've gone from one extreme to another. Last weekend we had sub-zero wind chills, while this weekend we expect much warmer temperatures combined with heavy rains. According to the weather experts at abc6, temperatures in the upper 50's, combined with heavy rains and melting snow, could lead to flooding.

Meteorologist Chelsea Priest says that well see rain on Friday and Saturday, and it will be heavy at times. Some places in the area still have several inches of snow that will be melting, and we could have flooding.

The areas to be especially concerned about are near small rivers and streams which may overflow. Also, the streets and roads with poor drainage systems are also at risk of becoming flooded.

If you happen to come across any flooding this weekend, please don't attempt to drive or walk through those areas. You not only endanger yourself but those who are called to help rescue you.
