Everyone gets frustrated when they just can not find what it they really need. It can be said about love, money, work- you name it.  Searching for what you need- and in this case, a job- can be daunting work. You’re too qualified, not qualified enough, have some experience but not the five years of experience they’re looking for. Finding a job that is as good for you as you are for it seems like a pipe dream.

That’s where registered nurse Rebecca Love  and her mom, a retired oncology nurse Patricia, came up with the idea to create a Match.com for nursing jobs.  Rebecca knew there was a demand for nurses as well as an ample supply of nurses but no simple way of connecting the candidates to the pool.

After watching her nursing students struggle to find jobs in the Boston area while simultaneously watching  her hospice patients struggle to find nurses that would help them remain in their homes- Rebecca, along with her mom and a small team created a kind of Match.com for nursing jobs- HireNurses.com.  Since its humble launch in May, the site has seen gathered 1,200 active nurse profiles from across the country.

Do you think more industries could benefit from these match-maker type public sites?
