The Adult Sleep Away Camp You’ve Dreamt About Is Almost Here

If you are an adult, age 22 - 40, and work endless hours in the urban jungle this getaway could be for you... one day.

EforAll South Coast as chosen the finalists for their 2017 Winter Accelerator Program, placing 13 early-stage businesses and non-profits through 12 weeks of workshops and meetings for a chance to win a $30,000 cash prize.  And while all of the ideas are good, one particular idea has us dreaming about the summer we never had.

Program finalist Christin Marshall is hoping that her idea, Wild Child Ventures, will win the money needed to make this urban professional sleep-away camp a reality.

The idea arose this past September 2016.  For our wedding, my husband and I rented the property of a Cape Cod summer camp, and treated our guests to a wedding weekend featuring the traditional wedding ceremony and reception, along with bonfires, a kickball tournament, yoga, a happy hour field day, an open waterfront, and a late night dance party with midnight pizza.  After a packed day, guests stayed in cabins onsite, and finished the weekend with breakfast the following morning.

While adult sleep away camps are becoming more popular, Marshall hopes to make hers the first in Cape Cod. Prize money would help secure campgrounds for other adventures liket he Berkshires or Kauai.
