NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police have made an arrest in a stabbing that occurred Thanksgiving morning in the city's near North End.

Police were called around 6:37 a.m. Thursday to 51 Myrtle Street, on a report of a home invasion. When they arrived, they found the male victim bleeding in a nearby intersection, suffering from two stab wounds.

The victim, a New Bedford resident, refused any treatment at the scene and attempted to walk away from police. Because of his injuries, he was detained and taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He is currently in stable condition.

Police soon arrested 29-year-old Keith Harden of New Bedford in connection with the stabbing. He is charged with assault with intent to murder.
