BRIDGEWATER — After the State Police Bomb Squad responded to a school bus in Bridgewater last week, authorities say the initial report of a bomb on the bus was a hoax.

Massachusetts State Police were called to the Route 24 rest stop in Bridgewater on Friday after officials at the Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School in Taunton received a bomb threat targeting one of their buses.

Students were evacuated from the bus stop while the State Police Bomb Squad searched the bus for bombs. No explosive devices were found.

The Brockton Enterprise says an investigation determined that the threat came from a student on the bus. The student, who is a minor, will be charged in connection to the incident.
