State Police were called to Myles Standish State Forest over the weekend after reports of a man drowning in Curlew Pond.

NBC 10 reports that a 69-year-old man from Taunton was removed from the water on Saturday morning and CPR was administered.

The man was then transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses say the man was not wearing a flotation device. His identity has not yet been released.

Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police and Plymouth police and fire departments were on the scene on Saturday.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the incident.
