Target will be removing the gender labels from a majority of their children's departments.  The change comes after various complaints about gender specific labels that designate some things for girls and others for boys. The store will be removing labels from the toy department as well as the children's bedding department. Target says the kids’ bedding section will no longer feature boy and girl signage, and the toy department won’t have any labels, or pink or blue paper on the shelves.

The boys and girls clothing section will remain the same though, because of differences in sizing and fit of the clothing.

Hopefully this change will give children more of an equal opportunity to buy the things that make them happy, regardless of what society has labeled as correct.
