Southcoast Schools Sticking To School Calendar Despite Snow Days

Oxford School Deemed Safe

After failing an air quality test for elevated levels of mold spores last week, the Oxford School has been officially deemed safe by the Department of Public Health.  That means that the school is now officially open for business.

Oxford School Mold Delays First Three Days Of School

Fairhaven is dealing with an unexpected and unpleasant surprise just days before the first day of school.  Dr. Robert Baldwin announced that the opening of Oxford School (the temporary home of the Wood School) will be delayed until the Tuesday after Labor Day.

What Will Fairhaven’s New School Be Named?

Have you seen the old Wood School in Fairhaven, lately?  If not, you'd better see it soon...or you'll never see it again.  Work crews are feverishly knocking it to the ground in order to build a new, state of the art, 24 million dollar school (15 million dollars of the tab will be picked up by the state....9 million by Fairhaven taxpayers).  The timetable?  An aggressive 13 months start to finish.  The goal is to start the first day of school next year in a brand new school on Sconticut Neck Road.
