The man who the DA's office suspect was the shooter in the murder of 31-year-old Sharon Stafford last Saturday night was in New Bedford District court today.  There was heavy security around Hailton DaCosta of Mosher Street in New Bedford at his arraignment today.   The 25-year-old was ordered held without bail.

DaCosta has been charged in the shooting death of Stafford, who was found lying in the street at Winsor and Crapo streets.  He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The prosecutor in the case said that his office has eyewitness and video evidence that implicates DaCosta.  Two other New Bedford men, Samir Baptista and Elito Mendes have also been charged in connection with the murder.
