Sunday Is “Elephant Day” At New Bedford’s Zoo

The Buttonwood Park Zoo's two long-time resident elephants will be honored Sunday.  The zoo has declared it as "Elephant Appreciation Day."

Asian elephants Emily and Ruth, will be the center of many activities all day Sunday.  There'll be an elephant walk and grazing session on the lawn across from the elephant exhibit, talks with the elephant keepers, kid's craft-making, and educational sessions on the history and conservation of elephants.   These activities are all free with regular zoo admission.
