DARTMOUTH - Dartmouth Police say a clerk received minor injuries after getting into a scuffle with a would-be robber.

Police say the suspect walked into the Cumberland Farms at State Road and Slocum Road before 10:30 P.M. Tuesday night to buy a soda, and walked up to the counter to tell the clerk he had lost his wallet.

The clerk helped the man search the store for the wallet, and went to go back behind the register when the suspect followed the clerk behind the counter. Police say that's when a struggle ensued, with the clerk managing to physically remove the suspect from the store.

Police searched the area and didn't find the man.

No weapon was shown, and the clerk received minor injuries.

The suspect is described as an unshaven white male, about 5' 10", wearing a gray hoodie pulled tight around the face with gray sweatpants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sean McGuire at 508-910-1733, or send a private message through the Dartmouth Police Department's Facebook page.
