Citing overcrowded buses, the Southeast Regional Transit Authority has begun adding more buses to it's busiest route, the New Bedford/Fall River line. SRTA will soon run buses on "Number Nine" on the half-hour, from 9:30am to 5:30pm on weekdays.

SRTA Administrator Erik Rousseau says when more people are opting for public transportation, you add more buses. "In the last four years, we're looking at almost a 50% increase in ridership. And this route alone makes up almost 10% of our overall ridership. So, it has seen quite a few more passengers over the last few years," said Rousseau.

The increased service will begin in mid-to-late August, and will continue through June of 2016.
