Southeastern Regional Transit Authority riders need to be aware that some bus routes have been adjusted due to the snow currently falling in the area.

"All routes in Fall River right now are on detour in New Bedford it's still developing," said SRTA General Manager Marty Burke, "keep in mind you had about an extra half hour to 45 minutes of snow in Fall River before it hit the New Bedford lines so that's still developing."

Motorists are also being advised to drive cautiously especially if they may find themselves behind a bus.

Burke says that bus drivers have alot to deal with today and even though it can be slow going, driving around a bus is very dangerous and can lead to some real consequences.

"People don't take into consideration what's happening with that bus when it's front of them on days like today, which is one of the reasons that bad things can happen to other vehicles," said Burke "they're trying to zip around it, well there's a customer trying to cross the street in front of that bus, you know, so you got to watch that."

Burke says route updates and other information are regularly posted to their SRTA' Facebook page as well as to their website.
