Gotta a child who loves to learn about the ocean? Then this kid-friendly event at the New Bedford Whaling Museum should be on your Halloween to-do list.

The Spooky Science of the Sea event happens on Saturday October 27th and lets kids discover weird, icky and fascinating facts about the sea and many of the creatures living there.

From how the sperm whale searches for the giant squid to the spooky sea creatures living deep in the ocean's dark waters, this free family event is creepy and educational all at the same time.

There's also Halloween themed crafts and spooky storytelling during the event that runs from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday October 27th.

And it all takes place under the massive whale skeletons hanging from the ceiling inside the museum's Jacobs Family Gallery.
