This morning on the Rock and Fox show, we discovered a local, Southcoast story that has gone national!

A runaway calf is the newest companion for a blind cow who lives at the 14-acre pet sanctuary, Don't Forget Us, Pet Us in Dartmouth.  Baby, the blind cow lost it's seeing eye pig playmate, Lulu, a few weeks ago.  They had been together for 7 years before Lulu passed away.

A local woman heard about a baby calf who was on the loose and once caught was at risk for the slaughterhouse.  Jean Briggs of Assonet, used her tax return money and paid 450 dollars for the calf so she could donate it to this amazing pet sanctuary.

Deborah Devlin who owns the sanctuary says the baby calf, who has not been named yet, will be introduced to Baby and hopefully become her new companion.

This story appeared this morning on a national news source and was also featured in a great article at southcoasttoday.com last week.
