40th Annual South County Balloon Festival is sure to lift your spirits this summer.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy at the South Country Balloon Festival, but the main attraction is a tethered balloon flight! "A tethered balloon is in the basket of a hot air balloon that remains attached to the ground by ropes. The balloon and basket ascend about 100 feet into the air where passengers get a breathtaking view of the festival grounds, the URI campus and surrounding South County countryside."

Tickets are $20/person and can be purchased directly at the balloon field prior to the flight. All flights subject to wind and weather restrictions determined by the professional balloonists immediately prior to ascension. Balloons ascend only in the morning from 6 to 8 am, and in the evening from 7 to 9 pm, weather permitting. Balloons DO NOT ascend all day.

Head over to the URI Athletic Fields on Keaney Rd in Kingston, Rhode Island for a day! General admission to the festival is $10 and children 10 and under are free all weekend. Parking is free and plentiful. Entry is payable at the gate.
