The latest in a new trend this holiday season, is seeing some retailers opting out of opening their doors on Thanksgiving Day.

GameStop is the latest to join that list. They say the move was made to that company employees, as well as customers, could spend time with their friends and families to enjoy the holiday. GameStop is following the lead of Staples, which announced they will also close their doors for Thanksgiving, earlier this month, for the same reasoning.

Some other stores like T.J. Maxx, Nordstrom and Costco, were closed last year on Thanksgiving, but they haven't announced their plans for this holiday season just yet.
