The calls from listeners telling us they had lost power at home began early this morning. The first calls came from the north end of New Bedford, north of the Pa Raffa's area up along Acushnet Ave.

Then we heard from people in Acushnet who had also lost power. Then, parts of Wareham and Marion. As more snow fell and the branches got heaveier, more of the limbs came down hitting the power lines. Many homes in Freetown were also reporting a power outage. Power has been restored to the north end of New Bedford as well as parts of Acushnet.

According to NStar, nearly all costomers effected in this area have now had their power restored. To the north, Carver still had over 20 percent without power as of noontime. Hopefully, the worst of the storm has now passed.
