Drivers on the roadways next weekend should be aware of a sobriety checkpoint being implemented in Bristol County.

The Massachusetts State Police has announced that a sobriety checkpoint will be set up in Bristol County next weekend.

And though they are warning drivers that it's going to happen, they are not saying where it will happen. Only telling drivers it will will likely pop up on a county road some time between Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24.

The state police released the following statement about the checkpoint,

The purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public’s awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways. It will be operated during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety."
