Horseneck Beach In Westport has been closed due to a report of a shark.

Update 3:19pm - The shark was spotted off Gooseberry Island around 11:45am on Wednesday. Along with Horseneck Beach, and Gooseberry, Demarest Lloyd State Beach were all evacuated.

Southcoast Today says that the Horseneck and Gooseberry beaches remain open for people to go and lay out if they want, but not in the water.

It was an adult, and a juvenile shark that was spotted in the water.

According to Southcoast Today, beach goers were forced to evacuate after a fisherman spotted the shark.

State Police have said that they currently doing an air search of area to confirm the sighting.
