State and local Police were kept busy over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with several serious South Coast Accidents.

Last night at approximately 8:30 p.m., troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Dartmouth Barracks responded to reports of a single car crash on I-195 West in the vicinity of Exit 4B in Somerset. Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2004 Toyota struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway.

The specific facts remain under investigation with the assistance of troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction unit, The pedestrian that was struck and killed has been identified as 43 year-old ROBERT PAVAO of Fall River. The Driver is being charged with Drunk Driving.

In Wareham ,Police received report at 12:01 a.m. Sunday of a serious accident near the YMCA facility on Charge Pond Road in Wareham. Officers found one vehicle overturned, and another with extensive front-end damage at the scene, according to police.Raymond Cardoza Jr., 45, of Onset was found dead at the scene, according to police.The other driver, Richard Hollis, 35, of Wareham, was found with serious leg and hip injury, and was transported by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center, according to police.

Numerous other less serious accidents were reported over the long weekend
