It was a cold, wintery weekend on the Southcoast and one Seekonk police officer made it a little warmer for an area homeless woman.

The Seekonk Police Department posted about one of their own on Facebook Sunday, after Officer Perry came to the aid of a woman in distress.

As the department posted, while working Sunday night Officer Perry came across a woman who was homeless and hadn't eaten in quite some time.

He then decided to not only buy her some food, but to get her a hotel room to stay in during Monday's storm.

His good deed not only got him lots of local respect, he made the national news as well when CBS picked up the story.
