Rescuers are spending today searching for victim after dozens of deadly tornadoes tore through the heartland yesterday.   The damage and devastation is almost beyond imagination.   Six people of the eight known deaths were in Illinois, and it's feared that number could go higher.

The wave of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms brought damaging winds to eleven state beside Illinois.   Two people are dead in Michigan.   Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee were also hit hard.

One tornado that blew through Illinois' Washington County left a path of destruction more than three miles long.  The National Weather Service estimates that the twister was at least an EF 3, and winds may have hit 200 miles per hour.
