Join the SouthCoast Center for Independent Living as they host their 1st annual Softball Tournament and Family Fun Day this weekend.

The SouthCoast Center for Independent Living (SCIL) will be hosting their very first softball tournament and day filled with activities to support their organization which makes it possible for people with disabilities to get all the services they need. A little more about the SCIL:

SCIL assists people with disabilities in exercising choice and making meaningful decisions in their lives by providing five core services to help them do so which are advocacy, information and referral, peer counseling, transition and prevention, and skills training.

Vice Chairman of the Fairhaven Board of Selectmen Charles K. Murphy Sr. will be throwing out the first pitch of the game, Miss New Bedford Outstanding Teen Victoria Kalisz will be singing the national anthem, and the Young Marines will be representing the Color Gaurd.

In addition to the softball tournament, there will be raffles for dozens of prizes donated by local businesses, food trucks, mini golf, activities for kids, and the PawSox mascot will be available for photos.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 13 at Cushman Field in Fairhaven from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. To learn more about the event or SCIL, click here.
