Scientists Grow Piña Colada Pineapple That Tastes Like Coconut

Interesting news for fans of Pineapple and Coconut, a government agency in Australia, have spent ten years trying to develop a new variety of sweeter, juicier pineapple but did not actually intend to create the coconut flavor.

The new pineapple, called AusFestival, has been dubbed the "piña colada pineapple" and will potentially make mixing fruits in the famous cocktail easier. It is likely to be commercially available in two years.

The senior horticulturalist at Queensland said that "It's sweet, low acid, and very juicy"

Sounds like it's going to be a little bit easier to plan for those summertime parties on the beach.
