School Threat Is Unfounded

A caller phoned police on Tuesday evening and claimed he was hiding from an armed intruder within Westport High School hallways.

The call turned out to be a hoax, and police are asking for public support in uncovering the identity of the young man who made the call, according to Detective Jeff Majewski.

Majewski said the call happened around 5:30 p.m. and area communities, including Fall River, have received similar calls over the past few weeks.
