The Mass. Department of Public Health has identified a cluster of salmonella cases in New Bedford.

Several cases of salmonella or food poisoning have been linked to food recently served at the Churrascaria Aveirense restaurant at 175 Sawyer Street in New Bedford.

The New Bedford Board of Health has shut down the restaurant, and says it won't reopen till all employees have tested negative for the bacteria, and all food safety requirements are adhered to.

Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps, with the illness lasting anywhere from four to seven days.
