Over the weekend, Ruby Tuesday restaurants announced that they plan to close 95 restaurants nationwide by the end of September.

Fun 107 spoke with waitress Renee DeBarros from the North Dartmouth location who had this to say about the closing, "It was very unexpected, I guess there was talk about it closing but everyone thought they would give a week or two. Now no one has a job and the only other option is the Swansea location but but you have re-apply."

In addition, another anonymous employee of the Dartmouth location informed us, "You didn't know until you showed up for your shift that day and the doors were locked they gave no notice not even to managers of the stores what they would do is call an emergency meeting the day of and tell the mangers the doors were locked. They would then look for other stores to move management to and the rest of the staff was left out."

Managers being moved to other locations are taking some reliable employees to their new locations. She also told us that this wasn't a surprise to her because the restaurant has been battling this massive close. "It's been gradually happening the past couple years with 3-4 stores at a time. Swansea Mall will be one of the next ones just by hearing how bad it's been at that location from an employee I know who's working the rest of his 2 week notice."

Even though this is truly a loss for their current employees, our anonymous source did tell us, "I did enjoy my time there and made the most of it.  While there, I noticed the seasoned mangers making a run for it; looking for better opportunities."

Of the 724 locations currently running, according to CBS local, close to 100 locations are significantly under performing and just aren't bringing in any money. An official list of closing locations has not been released to the general public.
