Roommate Finds New Bedford Man Dead of Suspected Heroin Overdose

Another suspected heroin overdose claims the life of a New Bedford man.

New Bedford Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the 52-year-old man was found unresponsive in his Beetle Street apartment around 8:30pm Wednesday night. The unidentified man's roommate found him lying on the floor next to his bed.

A syringe was found next to him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The State Medical Examiner's Office has taken custody of the body.
