It's apple picking season! And this family farm in Rhode Island is a road trip worthy place to pick.

The Barden Family Orchard on Elmdale Road in North Scituate, RI kicked off apple picking season last weekend and already people are taking advantage of the acres of apples they have to offer.

Barden Orchard features lots of different apples. Honeycrisp, McIntosh and Gala are ready for the picking and perfect for pies, tarts or just simple snacking.

And if you'd rather drink your apples, they've starting pressing cider for the season too!

Apple picking is open Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. and the store closes at 6 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday picking is from 9 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. with the store closing at 5 p.m.

And if Mother Nature makes a change in plans, they'll always let you know on their Facebook page.
