Reputed New Bedford gang member Rayshond Lewis was found dangerous at a hearing today in New Bedford District Court and ordered held without bail.

Lewis, 19, has already been arrested three times this year. The most recent arrest came back on May 8, when he was picked up on multiple charges, after police say he broke into the North End residence of his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend the day before, and strangled her to the point of losing consciousness.

He was initially arrested in January on a gun charge, and was released on $5,000 bail on April 12. Two days later, he was arrested again when he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle.

As a result of being found dangerous, Lewis has been ordered held without bail. The judge also revoked his $5,000 bail in a case he has pending in Superior Court.

According to a spokesman for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, the two clerks' offices are working on Lewis' next appearance date.
