I remember saying to someone, whoever they were, that I would never, ever get star-struck if I were to bump into a celebrity. Never would I believe how wrong I was. Jason Varitek, who was catcher during the 2004 and 2007 Red Sox championship years stopped by our studios with his wife for their “26 Random Acts of Kindness” for the holiday season to drop us off some muffins. Thank you “Tek.”

I can’t even describe what went through my mind. It was the first time I was speechless. Have you ever, in your head, visualized what you were going to say and have that conversation, only to realize you said absolutely nothing and stood there like a deer in headlights mumbling, “Oh my God, you’re Jason Varitek!”

I was too stunned to even snap a picture, but at the same time didn’t want to ruin the moment. I shook his hand and then passed out immediately. I was turned instantly into a 12 year old schoolgirl.
