It's probably not what the cleaning staff expected to find while straightening up a Worcester hotel room.

The Worcester Telegram and Gazette reports that a 5-foot python was found in a drawer of the Marriott Residence Inn on Plantation Street in Worcester.

The person staying in the room had already checked out, but for whatever reason left their python behind.

Perhaps it's because the type of python found is one that is illegal to own in the state of Massachusetts without a permit.

The snake wasn't thought to be left alone in the room for very long and was in good health.

The Telegraph says the snake is golden child reticulated python and is probably about two-years-old.

The abandoned snake was taken to New Hampshire where a store called the New England Reptile Distributors sells similar snakes as well as lizards and spiders.
